Troupe Ta'amullat is a folklorically based dance group dedicated to presenting the dance, music, and culture of North Africa, the Near East, and Central Asia. Troupe Ta'amullat (which means "reflections") is the oldest established multi-ethnic dance group in Michigan and is the first dance troupe recognized by the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS), the Detroit International Institute, and OmniArts in Education. Founded in 1976 by Suheyla (Kate McGowan), Ta'amullat continues to win acclaim for their skill, authenticity, and beautiful costuming. Ibrahim Farrah, of Arabesque, said the troupe was "the best amateur (Near Eastern) folkloric troupe in the US."
